This course is designed specifically for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets (NYS Dept. Ag & Mkts) Food Safety Education Course for those with a 20-C Processing License. The program covers all areas of food safety in six easy-to-understand lessons and is easy to navigate regardless of computer literacy. The purpose of this training is to provide you with food safety knowledge that will help you avoid an imminent health hazard and to ensure that the food you are serving is safe. An imminent health hazard is any violation or series of violations that make it probable that the food or drink being served is not safe for human consumption.
It should take no more than 8 hours to complete the course. You will have 10 weeks, from time of registration, to complete this course. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. Nelson Farms will notify the NYS Dept. of Ag & Mkts Food Safety Division that you have successfully completed the course and submit your information for inclusion in their database.
NYS Dept. Ag & Mkts mandates that certain operations that have a 20-C processing license must take a food safety education course every two (2) years or once every five (5) years if you complete the course and take an accredited certification exam. This course is for the two (2) year certification.
