Nelson Farms can generate certified nutrition panels, that meet all FDA regulations, for businesses & individuals creating a product for the market.
How does it work?
After the client signs our confidentiality agreement, he or she should then provide the product recipe, along with the weight of the whole product (12 oz. bbq sauce) or the weight of the individual product (if sold in a multi-pack, like cookies in a bag) and the weight of the total retail package & product count (i.e. 15 3 oz. cookies in a 45 oz. package). Once generated, the nutrition panel is emailed to the client for use on their label(s).
Do I need a nutrition facts panel on my label?
Consumers like to see nutrition panels and many grocery stores require it, however small startup entrepreneurs may be exempt. It is best to consult the FDA Food Labeling Guide.
How much does it cost?
Nutrition Facts Panels are $125 each. If ingredients need to be inputted, researched and itemized for the client, the fee is $150 per panel. If the client has a second product that is a variety of the first with one different ingredient, the second label is $30. This service is offered to participants of our Stovetop to Storefront workshop for $100 ($125 with research). Payment is required at time of service.
How long does this process take?
The label is usually emailed to the client 24-36 hours after we receive payment and ingredient information.
