In August 1974, Sal Nalbone decided to fulfill his lifelong dream of opening his own restaurant, Sal's Birdland. After formulating a special sauce and seasoning, he served up, arguably, some of the best chicken and rib dinners in New York State. Per customer requests, Sal began bottling Sal's Sassy Sauce, and later developed other sauce products to establish what is now known as Sal's Family of Fine Sauces.
